Nome reaches above zero for 1st time in 3 weeks, 14 Jan 2012

Nome AK reached +1 F on 14 January 2012, the first time the temperature has climbed above zero since 23 December when the high temperature reached +4 F. So far through the first 14 days of January 2012 Nome has averaged -24 F which is -29 F below normal. The -40 F recorded there on 5 January was the coldest temperature reported in Nome in several years.
