Several locations in eastern Washington recorded one of their coldest Aprils on record as reported by NWS Spokane:

 AN UNUSUALLY COOL AND PERSISTENT WEATHER PATTERN HELD SWAY OVER THE
 REGION DURING THE MONTH OF APRIL, 2011. NEW RECORD LOW MONTHLY
 AVERAGE TEMPERATURES WERE SET AT CHIEF JOSEPH DAM, COEUR D`ALENE,
 THE EPHRATA AIRPORT, RITZVILLE, STEHEKIN AND AT PANGBORN MEMORIAL
 AIRPORT IN WENATCHEE.
